Every day I receive notifications from LinkedIn regarding recommendations from connections (thank you very much!) as well as LinkedIn recommendations on who to connect with. As I review them there is something striking that 90% of these recommendations have in common... bad headshots. Plus many do not even have a photo at all. In many cases no photo is better than a bad photo!

LinkedIn is your social media connection to other professionals in your industry and related industries therefore your headshot should be a high quality professional representation and likeness of you. Your LinkedIn profile photo should not be from your recent fishing trip or your family vacation at the beach or Sea World. It should not be a photo that your spouse or friend snapped with his/her iPhone or Point and Shoot camera. 

Your LinkedIn Profile Photo should be captured by a professional photographer using professional equipment (camera, lens, lighting, backdrop, etc.).
